Why We Exist
SmartHaven Foundation was created from a place of lived experience—not theory. Our founder knows firsthand what it feels like to face instability, hardship, and life-altering challenges with nowhere to turn. After surviving domestic violence, aging out of the foster care system, and rebuilding life from the ground up, she learned one powerful truth: people don't just need housing. They need a fresh start, support, dignity, and a path forward. SmartHaven was built for that exact purpose. Today, we provide safe, stable shared housing for individuals who are ready to rebuild their lives but simply need a foundation to stand on.
Every contribution goes right back into the community, allowing us to open more homes, shelter more people, and create more opportunities. Our vision extends beyond housing: as we grow, we plan to offer employment services, empowering our residents to heal and achieve true independence.
Who We Are
Smart Haven is an independent transitional living and supportive program that provides structure, safe housing and support for adults who want to have more stability and independence.
Who We Serve
We serve adults (18+) who are motivated to transition into stable, independent living and would benefit from structured housing and supportive services. Our program supports individuals including, but not limited to:
- Experiencing housing instability
- Transitioning from institutional or structured settings
- Re-entery
- Managing Mental health or life-stability challeneges
- Domestic violence survivor
- Veterans
- Homeless individuals
